Happy Thanksgiving my loves. Hope you're spending quality time with your loved ones!
I have many things to be thankful for this year. 2013 has given me a number of curve balls, and with each I have gained knowledge of my strength and who is apart of my life for the right reasons. I am particularly thankful for my family members who have been by my side through the toughest of times and helped me out of the dark holes I continued to fall into. Life is pretty close to perfect right now and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Can we talk clothes nowwww? The lace top is from f21, the denim skirt was picked up at a little vintage shop in town, and the jacket I got from urban. It's Kill City, 50% off of the sale price.

Hey there. So it's fall y'all, and the holiday's are officially around the corner. Let the toasty wood burning, hot chocolate, cozy sweater wearing nights begin! What's everyone's plans for the holidays, where ya going, what's on your wishlist, what are you thankful for this year?
Also it looks like it's going to be full of knee highs and leather. I bought this leather jacket while on my trip to New York. A great find from Buffalo Exchange. The top is from urban recently...I was crazy about the color.

everything happens for a reason

Heyyyyy! Coming back after a long absence always feels so right. No excuses, just juggling work and my social life. 2013 has been exceptionally generous with new acquaintances. Let's talk a second about certain people who enter your life. Whether or not they stay for the long hall, they were apart of your life for a reason. I am thankful for the people I have met and the strength they have allowed me to gain. I am a better person with each soul that I meet. They may not be in your life forever, so learn what you can while you have the chance.

I promise I have on bottoms! Well, biker shorts with lace trim...that counts. The guns n' roses tee was a great find from ebay. The leather bomber was also a must have find from etsy. Can you believe I own that?! Yeah she's perfect. AND knee highs....I think I will be wearing them with everything this season!

Sooo, you'll never guess where this girl went for the second weekend in a row. Yep, Nawwwwlens (New Orleans). I'm out of control. I would move there in a second. That city is pretty gross and a little dangerous, but so freaking cool. Lil Wayne's "Megaman" lyrics are only appropriate.
This top is free people, the skirt is an oldie from f21, and this necklace I recently found at Francesca's..a little jewelry shop near where I work. I saw this amazing gem that reminded me of something vintage, so I had to have it.

roaming the streets

Hey guys! I'm back, nothing new to update. Except I am now 24, I had a birthday last week! I also took a trip to New Orleans with some friends for our annual Hanson concert. We've only been the last two years, but it seems like it will be a reoccurring event. They are huge fans, and were lucky enough to meet them while walking the streets. He had a blast, no place like NOLA!
This dress is one of my favorite purchases from urban. And you know me--I only paid $7! Sale on sale. The beaded shirt underneath is from Nasty Gal. I have had a hard time figuring out what to pair this top with, but this works for now. And in honor of fall, I added my knee highs. Can't wait for cooool weather.

So here's a wild one. This suede fuschia skirt was on the $5 rack at Time Warp. I just had to have it. And the cropped dyed "Chicago" tee is urban renewal. Urban renewal items are always so fun when we get them in the store. Especially when you find a pattern you like. I also added a necklace I got from charming charlies a looooong time ago. And finally, I was even crazy enough to add a red lip. Enjoy the look. And have a great week!

pretty in pink

This beautiful pretty in pink dress is seriously one if my favorite vintage finds. I've had it for a while, just nowhere to wear it. So I asked myself, what would Molly Ringwald do? I decided to pair it with my oil slick Jeffrey Campbells, and a vintage black belt. The belt I passed on like 3 times, when I finally decided to splurge the $2! Good decision...I say.

I guess I should let you guys know that I've had a rough couple of weeks. Let's just say, new transitions are complicated. I don't really want to elaborate right now, but just know things will be ok. My blog has been a big help with each situation I go through. It's almost like this blog is my outlet from life. I have enjoyed sharing my ups, my downs, my accomplishments, and my failures. And it's all because of YOU. It's strange to me that I feel more comfortable letting you guys in on my thoughts more than the people who are physically in my life. So, thank you guys for continuing to follow and inspire. Seriously, you guys don't know how much I appreciate all of the beautiful thoughts and comments. I never thought I could feel so connected to so many people around the world. You guys rock and I hope I continue to inspire you.

I still remember putting them on hold so Brandon and I could catch a movie next door. They were a must have. The top is also a goodie, from freepeople.

So, it's my first time wearing nothing underneath an outfit...well just a bra and biker shorts. I don't know if I would have the balls to wear this in real life, but I've always loved this look on others. This daisy dress and fringe vest are from f21. The hologram heels are from urban, but they are available everywhere. Love when I can get Jeffrey's on a discount.

welcome home

Sooo, the time has comes. He's home...for good. My Marine came home last week after a long and crazy four years. I had a surprise party planned and everything. He was so happy and shocked to have all of his friends in one place. I was so excited I actually pulled it off! Wooo, next chapter.

This super fab printed dress is vintage from Time Warp, the necklace is actually one of my few finds from charming charlies...I got lucky with that one.

guess who's coming to dinner

Hey people! It's Fridayyyy! Only problem is, I've had the last two days off, and this weekend I'm working! So today is really like Sunday for me. I technically start my work week tomorrow. Good news though...I have a special gift coming next Thursday! So special that I took off Thurs-Sun. And ya know what, we're going to make this a game. Any idea what my surprise could be?!

Let me quickly give you the 411 on this outfit. The top I have had for a while now. I actually cut a couple of inches off to help with my ever evolving style. It was from my mom, she knows me so well. Before throwing it out, she asked if I wanted it. I always say yes to crochet. It's not vintage, it's probably from like Steinmart or something. The dyed shorts are urban, and the boots are from Solestruck.

Hey guys! This lace crop top has been my top of the summahhh! It's from f21 and I now wish I would have bought 2 of them. That ever happen to you guys? You love a piece of clothing so much, but by the time you figure that out...the item is no longer in the stores.
The skirt is also f21. The vest is from my new favorite thrift store. I have found killer things every time.

oui the people

Hey peeps, it's been a long week. Finally, I have the whole weekend off! I will be laying out with my blow up kiddie pool and raft aallllll weekend...(if it doesn't rain). Can I just tell you, if you don't have a regular sized pool, blow up pools are the way to go.
So, a few weeks ago I went to a friend's yard sale and found some great vintage pieces. This canary yellow dress was one of my finds. Aside from the color, the accordion skirt is probably my favorite part. And guess what!! She also has her own etsy shop called oui the people, so you guys should check it out. She's got tons of killer pieces.

Hey guys! Can we just start with long distance relayyytions are not fun. When you have them right next to you, you need space. When you don't have them next to you, you become needy. This long distance thing has made me the neediest bitch there ever was. I will say though that we've done it. It wasn't always pretty, but he comes home in about a month for good. The butterflies are already here. I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The vest, top, and pants are all f21. Loving the pants, but this top is about to hit the road. I haven't worn it in about a year, so I cut off a few inches to make it more of a crop top. Still not a huge fan, so she may have just made her last appearance. These wedges are my freaking life right now. I saw them on nastygal a while back and drooled, but controlled myself and didn't purchase. I recently found them on the urban website, so with my discount I couldn't say no!

Well guys. Hope ya enjoy my midriff, because you're gonna get a lot of it this summer. I have literally been crazy for crop tops. This one in particular is one of my faves from FreePeople. It's supposed to be like a sports bra situation...but for me a crop top. The skirt is also a gooooodie. Of course urban always does me good! This skirt was $5! Craayyyyzaaayyy! Enjoy guys.

Hey there! Can I just say, you guys are seriously the best. Thanks for all of the kind words and stories on the last post. I don't know what's going to happen, but I feel something good coming my way. I'm getting rid of all the negative energy around me and starting fresh. Speaking of good energy, I met someone fabulous yesterdayyyy. I spotted Jenn from Haute Off the Rack shopping at Urban! After a few minutes of stalking her around the store, I finally got the nerve to speak to her. She was super sweet and even more gorgeous in person. She's a great inspiration for bloggers here in Louisiana. I know most of you reading are from other parts of the world, so to meet someone from this small town living their dream doing what they love is truly inspiring.

Your twenties should be the most exciting time of your life. Starting new careers, taking risks, building new relationships. I feel like I've let myself down. I graduated from college a year and a half ago, and I'm still not where I want to be. This has to be the year! I'm going to put myself out there like never before. Sorry if this was not very uplifting, but it's my life right now...and I know I can't be the ONLY one!
